Simulation of flow over stepped and traditional spillways

چکیده

There are several challenges that faced by these structures, such as cavitation and high speed of flow during the dissipation energy. The spillway is one key basic elements dams utilized to pass huge volumes discharge. current work used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerically estimate water surface pressure distribution over stepped traditional spillways. numerical findings were compared with experimental data using Renormalization group k- model. have been compared, it has determined there an acceptable agreement between two sets findings.
